[0:00:30] Andrew: Hello and welcome to another Regulation Supplemental. We are breaking down our summer movie auction that we did. If you have not looked at that at all, go back and listen to that supplemental and then come back here. It's over now. We're done. We finished it. Everyone bought movies. We did totals. And we are here to kind of reflect on the summer that was, how we feel about it, all that sort of good stuff.
[0:00:57] Gavin: How do you guys feel about how things went? Because I liked it a lot. I feel medium. I don't know how I didn't catch up with you. I don't know how Alien didn't get me there. Uh, Power Deadpool Wolverine. Can't stop him. You rode Deadpool Wolverine for so long. Good lord. You rode Inside Out 2.
[0:01:16] Eric: I feel the same way about Harold and the Purple Crayon. But, like, for some reason, it didn't, nothing happened with it. Like, I don't know where, like, Crown Mania went, but, like, it fell off.
[0:01:28] Andrew: They just didn't know. I think all the Harold heads out there are like, once that, oh, it's out? It came out already? Harold. They're busy reading the books. They forgot there's a movie. Oh, we blew it. Oh, we blew it, Harold heads. Can you imagine walking out of Harold and the Purple Crayon and saying the book was better? No, I can't imagine walking out of Harold and the Purple Crayon at all. It's gonna be Harold and the Purple Crayon day. I got some Harold and Purple Crayon on the podcast we record later.
[0:01:57] Geoff: I'd love, I'd love to know how much movie, uh, how much, uh, money that movie, what? How much, how much money did it make?
[0:02:04] Andrew: How much money did it make? Uh, let's see. How money make movie?
[0:02:07] Eric: Hey, do you want to have a look? Because here's, like, our actual draft and whatever.
[0:02:11] Andrew: Oh, yeah, so we're recording the screen if you want to visually watch this. Yeah.
[0:02:14] Eric: But, it's, it's been a long day already. Someone has put together a leaderboard here. For some reason, I'm in, I think it's in, like, reverse order. It's, yeah, it was a bug. Yeah. So, uh, here, Jeff, we can look at Harold and the Purple Crayon. Um. 17 million?
[0:02:31] Geoff: Uh, that's more than I would have guessed. Money makes 17 million movie. Okay. 17 million?
[0:02:36] Eric: Wow. That's great. What was his budget? Way more than Fabulous 4.
[0:02:43] Geoff: More than Fabulous 4 and Dee Dee together. Ooh, boy. More than Borderlands. Oh, no. Oh, wow.
[0:02:51] Andrew: Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Wow. That's crazy to look at.
[0:02:55] Gavin: That is. Wow. Wow. What did Untitled Horror end up being?
[0:03:01] Andrew: Still Untitled. I think nothing.
[0:03:02] Gavin: Yeah. Okay. Never came out. Still don't know. I got robbed of, uh, Horizon. What was Horizon part one? How much did that make? 29 million. 29 million.
[0:03:11] Geoff: Wouldn't have been enough. All the Horizon homies forgot to show up. Unfortunately.
[0:03:16] Gavin: Even that wouldn't have taken me ahead of Andrew.
[0:03:18] Geoff: Look at the graph, Eric. How far off were you? Do you want to have a look at the graph? 51 million?
[0:03:22] Gavin: 51 million? Look, look at the end there. Oh, my God. Look, look at Andrew overtaking me. Okay. Then, a little bit later, Alien came out, and I just hovered perfectly underneath his line the entire way to the end. There was no week. There was no week. There was no day where I made ground, and he didn't make the same ground. That is insane.
[0:03:44] Eric: Was I ever in first? Maybe. No.
[0:03:49] Geoff: Maybe for like an hour.
[0:03:50] Eric: No. Yeah.
[0:03:52] Geoff: God, that first week or so was real sweet to Jeff.
[0:03:55] Eric: Felt real good. Oh! There you were. What a day. Wow. June 2nd, a day that will, and the third. Oh, my gosh, the fourth. Oh, you had a run. Oh, my God. A week that will live in infamy. Oh, my God. And then, and then, check it out. You and Jeff.
[0:04:12] Unidentified: Oh, my God.
[0:04:14] Geoff: The $50 million swing instantly.
[0:04:17] Eric: Holy shit.
[0:04:18] Geoff: Look at that.
[0:04:20] Eric: Almost $100 million.
[0:04:22] Geoff: Oh, my God. So, Inside Out 2 and Deadpool and Wolverine ended up being, respectively, the most successful films in their genre ever, right?
[0:04:31] Andrew: Yeah, I would say so for like the R-rated. Is there a higher, more financially successful R-rated movie? I don't think so.
[0:04:39] Gavin: I don't believe there is. Sure as shit wasn't Showgirls.
[0:04:44] Eric: Now, I think that we have all had a lot to say so far, but Nick has been like weirdly quiet. I spent a lot of money for not a lot of payout. We really thought, like, look at this, Nick. Look at this run. Listen. Second place, second place, second place, second place, second place, second place, eating fucking dust. And then Jeff did it right at the end. And then Jeff.
[0:05:11] Geoff: And then I Beetlejuiced him.
[0:05:14] Eric: I felt bad because my line's pretty horizontal. Like, I got like a bump here, whatever. Mine's pretty low the whole way. Nick, what happened? It's such a good start. You just stopped drafting movies?
[0:05:27] Nick: But it's interesting. The studio, it just ran out of money. I don't know what happened.
[0:05:35] Gavin: Yeah, let's go back to the Excel sheet.
[0:05:39] Eric: Well, we can have a look at what everyone drafted here. All right.
[0:05:44] Geoff: Despicable Me 4. Really put it all on Despicable Me.
[0:05:47] Andrew: There is an alternate reality where Nick lets me get it at 79 points and our things are flipped completely.
[0:05:55] Gavin: Yep. I think I was so burned out on recent MCU that I didn't even care about Deadpool Wolverine when we were doing this. And then as it came up, the hype was insane. And then the movie was good. I was like, wow, they fixed it.
[0:06:10] Eric: Dude, I watched Bad Boys ride or die on the plane. That was a bummer. There's some cool moments, but like. Oh, I liked it a lot. I haven't seen it yet.
[0:06:20] Geoff: I was totally fine with it.
[0:06:21] Eric: It's, you watch it. Well, here's the problem. I watched Bad Boys 2, then Bad Boys 1, and then Bad Boys ride or die. And I went, well, this is not a Michael Bay movie at all. Like, not even close.
[0:06:32] Andrew: Yeah. I do like that he's in them, though. Like, as a little, like, not, like, approval. Like, they bring him in for both the last two.
[0:06:40] Gavin: Oh, yeah. He did have a cameo in 4. Yep. I'm pleased that with less points than Nick's single movie, I managed to get three nine-figure movies, though.
[0:06:51] Andrew: So, what was the difference between Gavin and I? Because I came in first. Gavin was second. I guess.
[0:06:59] Gavin: That would be on the top leaderboard, it would say.
[0:07:02] Eric: Where am I looking here?
[0:07:03] Gavin: No, yeah. It's just the top numbers. So, billion, 30, and then 981. So, like, 19.
[0:07:09] Geoff: About 50 million. It's crazy. Just under, like, 49 million. The 15 bucks I was saving didn't come into play, really.
[0:07:18] Eric: I thought maybe, I thought it would. I felt like mine was going, I got nine bucks sitting in my pocket, and then, I don't know, man. Why is, Janet Planet, right? During the auction, the points of this movie were not recorded correctly instead of inputting them. Oh, okay. That's.
[0:07:32] Gavin: Wait, so you got a free movie?
[0:07:34] Eric: Yeah, but it only made, it made me less than one million dollars.
[0:07:38] Gavin: Look, I want to say, even though you came in fifth, I think you're, I think that's a DQ.
[0:07:42] Eric: What? No way.
[0:07:43] Gavin: I think you're disqualified.
[0:07:44] Eric: You know what?
[0:07:45] Gavin: You can't have, like, your studio couldn't have got that movie.
[0:07:48] Eric: What do you mean?
[0:07:49] Gavin: Invalid.
[0:07:50] Eric: Wait, here, hey, Gavin, you know what? You can take one million dollars away. That's even more than this movie made. You can take one million dollars away from me, and we'll see where that puts me.
[0:08:00] Gavin: If it was the last movie you drafted, I would say that would work, but because it happened early, I don't know. I think that's DQ. No. That's what I like about Texas.
[0:08:10] Andrew: Is there a way that Gavin could have won with those 15 points?
[0:08:13] Geoff: Thanks, Nick.
[0:08:15] Andrew: I like that. With the what? With the 15 points he had left, the $15. Uh-huh. Look at the movies. Look, go back to where all the movies were. I wonder if there is a way that Gavin could have won.
[0:08:27] Eric: Well, yeah, if he didn't put it on Horizon Zero Dawn Part 2 or whatever, right? Like, if he would have saved a point there, because there's, what? There's one, two, three here. What could I have got there? Yeah, could you go back to the board, the other thing? Oh, he could have got Beetle. He could have probably gone for Beetlejuice. Let's see how much shit.
[0:08:48] Andrew: Like, let's just look at the movies and what they went for in the community-made website.
[0:08:55] Gavin: I remember going for Beetlejuice, but I didn't have enough money.
[0:08:58] Andrew: So let's open up Jeff, or yeah, that works.
[0:09:01] Geoff: I think I got it for not too much money. It was at the end.
[0:09:03] Eric: Yeah, it should be at the very bottom, Beetlejuice. So do you want to see it by points, or you just want to see it by release date?
[0:09:09] Gavin: Release date, scroll down, Beetlejuice. Okay, 16 points. One more than I had.
[0:09:12] Andrew: One more.
[0:09:14] Gavin: I think it was 16 because I was going to put 15.
[0:09:18] Andrew: Wow. I see. Okay.
[0:09:20] Gavin: So I really screwed myself with Horizon then.
[0:09:23] Andrew: Yeah.
[0:09:23] Gavin: Wow. Because I would have had...
[0:09:26] Geoff: Dang. Look at that.
[0:09:27] Gavin: I would have had 21 points. So did Jeff have more than that still there?
[0:09:33] Geoff: What about Trap? I did it. Ends with us three points for 148 million. It was pretty good.
[0:09:40] Eric: Wait, that's you?
[0:09:41] Geoff: Yeah.
[0:09:42] Eric: You did it ends with us? Well, it says that during the auction, the points for this movie were not recorded correctly. Instead of setting the point value to zero, we have the intended value. So does that mean Jeff is disqualified? Wait.
[0:09:52] Nick: I'm afraid so.
[0:09:53] Eric: I guess so. Okay. Just making sure.
[0:09:55] Geoff: I guess Eric and I are both disqualified. Yeah, yeah. Me and Jeff are disqualified. Or I get an extra 148 million is what it's saying. But wait, how many points did you have left at the Beetlejuice mark? I ended up having eight left after I bought it, I think. Yeah, yeah.
[0:10:12] Eric: So you still... I didn't spend all my points. No, Jeff, you had four left at the end. Four left. You had 20 points. Looks like you had 20 points total. Wait. So that changes everything, doesn't it? Why is that?
[0:10:24] Andrew: What do you mean? Articulate how it changes anything. You can't just say that changes everything. And then wait for everybody to agree. Well. I think what it would have made a bigger change is if you bought Trap. Which is three points. You probably could have got it for four or five. Yeah. And that's 42 million.
[0:10:47] Gavin: That was a huge hit. With Jeff and Eric getting free movies and my movie absorbing six points that didn't come out. Damn. I feel like I could have had this.
[0:10:59] Eric: Oh, you're close. You had it for most of the summer. So did we find out if it changed everything or not? I still don't know if it changed anything. No, I don't think it changed anything. I'm just making sure. Thank you.
[0:11:13] Andrew: Most people thought you were going to win this, Gavin.
[0:11:15] Gavin: He still would have been able to outbid me by a couple of points, but if I didn't lose horizon, it would have changed everything. He keeps saying it. Basically, if one variable changes, it changes everything. That's how life works. Yeah. I mean, I suppose sliding doors. You're a real Gwyneth Paltrow, Gavin. So with Jeff's, it ends with us. That's definitely the most money per point. I would think so. That's got to be pretty good.
[0:11:53] Andrew: That's real good.
[0:11:54] Geoff: I was like 60. Is that what the column on the right is? 50 million a point.
[0:11:59] Andrew: So, yeah, 148 million is how much it made. And Jeff spent three points on it.
[0:12:04] Gavin: So 49 million per point.
[0:12:06] Andrew: Yeah.
[0:12:06] Gavin: It's the best value of any movie.
[0:12:08] Andrew: That's crazy.
[0:12:09] Gavin: What was Wolverine's value? Had to be pretty good. What do you mean value? Like point to money.
[0:12:16] Andrew: It's 9 million.
[0:12:17] Gavin: 9 million. 9.292 million. And Inside Out 2 is 14 million. Harold and the Purple Crayon was 5 million a point. Yeah, baby. That's what I'm talking about. So Twisters and It Ends With Us were phenomenal value per point.
[0:12:31] Andrew: Yeah.
[0:12:31] Gavin: Yeah.
[0:12:32] Andrew: Oh, they got it for me, for sure. The Watchers, do you want to just go through everyone's list and maybe we each talk about how we felt about these?
[0:12:40] Eric: Yeah, let's start from the bottom. Yeah. The Strangers heard it sucked. Furiosa, I'm disappointed. I thought that all I heard is that this was a box office flop and looking at $67 million, that's pretty awesome. Should have been well over $100. I would think, right?
[0:12:59] Geoff: I could get through that film.
[0:13:01] Andrew: I just don't, like, it's weird. That movie came and went so quick. Yeah. And there's no discussion. And the same way that the last Mad Max, it felt like it floated and you're seeing posts about it and memes and like just none of that for this.
[0:13:15] Gavin: It just had nothing on Fury Road.
[0:13:17] Eric: Yeah. I agree. I agree. And then here's an anime thing. Here's Janet Planet. Maxine. I didn't expect that to do. I mean, $15 million is pretty great. Not bad. For that. I'm just glad they're done making those movies. That's pretty great.
[0:13:30] Gavin: Is Janet Planet the worst point to money value on the entire list? It might be. It might be. The crow would like a word.
[0:13:39] Eric: No, not the crow. 396 for Janet Planet. Let's have a look. Hang on. We're scrolling. 102 for Ryan's World. Sorry. 100 grand point. Yeah. It's, it's, uh, yep. It's Ryan's World. That's expensive. Yep. Uh, DD Mega Doodoo, Harold the Purple Crayon didn't, didn't pull for me. Harold heads didn't come through. Borderlands making less money. That's like 11 points here is crazy, man. Like in retrospect, we knew it wasn't going to do well. I figured it was going to do more than that.
[0:14:15] Geoff: It was going to be like a $48 million flop, not a $15 million.
[0:14:20] Andrew: It made less overall than I thought it would do opening weekend.
[0:14:23] Eric: Yes. Me too. I think what happened, this is just speculation. I think the Borderlands came out at a time where there were too many other meme-y little shitty movies, so you couldn't grab onto it. You're riding the wave of Deadpool and Wolverine, which was like dominating the conversation. Harold and the Purple Crayon was the one that people memed, and it did, and it helped to get to 17. Nobody memed Borderlands. Like, it did not grab and push at all, which is really, really tough. Trap, I saw. I helped it out. I thought it was very, for three points, banger. Oh, great. Pretty good.
[0:15:01] Geoff: That's a pretty good return, man.
[0:15:02] Eric: The Crow, I think I was just trying to get rid of points at this point. You were.
[0:15:08] Andrew: You guys were running out of movies and had points left, so it created inflated value on these. You spent 23 points on it.
[0:15:17] Eric: The Crow, doing under 10 million, makes sense if you see The Crow. Like, if you watch this movie, you'd just be like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[0:15:24] Geoff: More people wanted to watch Ronald Reagan than The Crow.
[0:15:29] Eric: Well, this is definitely an AstroTurf thing. This is a thing where, like, weird, like, voting packs are like, we're going to buy all the tickets, but no one's going to go. I think that's what happened here for Reagan, so that's tough, but that's mine. You know, it is what it is. Nick, let's have a look at yours. What do you think? Oh, my God, that's all you got?
[0:15:49] Nick: Yeah, it was a lot of not foresight and a lot of upfront spending.
[0:15:54] Eric: Nick, this is all within a month and a half. This is like, this is all within 40 days.
[0:16:02] Unidentified: I was at the table. I said, let it ride, and I kept saying it, and I kept saying it, and before you know it, I woke up with no money.
[0:16:13] Andrew: Back to black costing the same amount of trap.
[0:16:16] Nick: Yeah.
[0:16:16] Andrew: Oh, that's rough. It's very funny.
[0:16:17] Nick: Yeah. I was taking some low gambles at first and then just jumped full on in. Yeah. For despicable me. Rough trade, bud. Sorry.
[0:16:27] Andrew: I should have let Andrew go.
[0:16:28] Nick: Yeah.
[0:16:29] Andrew: You should have. So going through it, Nick spent three points back to black. Got six million for it. Then sight two points, and he got seven million. Yep. Followed by blue law, some anime thing, one point, one point eight million. A quiet place day one. Goodbye, Nick. Ten points. Hundred thirty eight million.
[0:16:49] Eric: Can't believe that many people saw it. That's nuts.
[0:16:51] Andrew: It was really good. I didn't see it in theaters. I watched it when it came out on VOD, but I really enjoyed it. Like, I'm not a huge quiet place fan, but I thought that was the best one by far. It was really good. Oh, and then despicable me for three hundred sixty million is what it earned and spent 80 points on it. You and I were going back and forth for despicable me.
[0:17:12] Gavin: That one got really out of hand, but it did.
[0:17:14] Eric: It did, but also look at the domestic point, like, how much it made to point total. Only four and a half.
[0:17:23] Geoff: Are you happy to have missed out on that one, Andrew?
[0:17:26] Andrew: Oh, I'm so happy. Yeah, because I'm Nick, if that doesn't. Yeah. If that goes forward, I'm Nick, and Nick has Deadpool's Wolverine.
[0:17:34] Nick: And I am Nick, and this sucks.

Time. Wait. Sip responsibly.
[0:18:55] Geoff: Let's have a look at Jeff here. Uh, wait, mine can be pretty quick. I, uh, I took a bit of a scattershot approach, sort of a shotgun approach, if you will. Clearly, I had a big, big win in if at over $10 million a point. Yeah, really? I knew that was going to do well for me. It ends with us. Surprise hit of the summer. I had an idea. My wife does a, has a book talk podcast with Eric's wife. So I, you know, I have my ear as a ground, as it were, you know, about as to what's popular in the, in book talk.
[0:19:27] Eric: It's called Clutch My Pearls and you can listen to it wherever you get podcasts.
[0:19:30] Geoff: There you go. Beetles. I was trying to be a little more subtle, but Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice obviously, uh, pulled, pulled me up at the end to, to, to climb the Nick hump, which I was glad to get ahead of. Uh, real disappointed in fucking Kevin Costner. That's my takeaway from the summer. You're disappointed. Just really, really let me down. I think he feels.
[0:19:51] Andrew: There was, during the, when we, we did this, I thought it was hilarious that you bought the first and showed zero interest in the second. And what a great fucking vision you had of how that thing would play out. Spent too much on the first. But man, did you call the drop off between. And just crazy, trying to throw the needle looking at just movies, the bike riders. What was that? Four points for 21 million. I don't think I know anyone who has seen that movie. I forgot it exists. It's a movie I forget about constantly.
[0:20:28] Geoff: I think it's cause Tom Hardy has a bad accent or something. Yeah, he does. That's great. Yeah.
[0:20:34] Gavin: Well, we were thinking that Ryan's world, the movie was the worst point to money value. But, uh, but I did spend six points on zero dollars because of Kevin Costner.
[0:20:45] Geoff: Oh, that's true. That is true. Tough. Yeah. Yeah.
[0:20:50] Gavin: So, so, uh, point value being one sixth of nothing per dollar spent.
[0:20:55] Eric: Um, Jeff, anything else here? Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice doing it. Pretty good stuff.
[0:21:01] Geoff: Yeah. You know, clearly I wish it would have come out a little earlier in the summer, but I knew I was taking a risk of getting it at the end of the year. And I, like I said, I'm just glad it was there to help me climb, uh, climb Nick.
[0:21:12] Andrew: How many of these movies have you seen, Jeff?
[0:21:14] Geoff: That you have? Uh, I have seen on my list, If.
[0:21:22] Andrew: So you started it out, you went to the first one. You didn't even see Beetlejuice?
[0:21:27] Geoff: Millie and I saw If. No, I saw a lot of movies on other people's lists, but that's the only one I saw from my life. Thanks, man.
[0:21:32] Gavin: I have a question. How did, how did some movies on this list not come out? And then there were some movies that came out that weren't on this list? Good question.
[0:21:41] Andrew: What do you mean?
[0:21:42] Gavin: Wasn't there a Transformers movie that came out?
[0:21:44] Andrew: Yeah, so, typically we would cut this off, uh, at the end of August. But we did this like a week later. Yeah. Then, so it went one week longer. So it was the first week of September was the cutoff.
[0:21:58] Geoff: What about the Nicolas Cage horror movie that came out that made a bunch of money?
[0:22:03] Andrew: Longlegs? Yeah, that just may have just slipped under the radar for the list that I was using.
[0:22:08] Geoff: Seems like that could have been my untitled horror film I bought.
[0:22:12] Andrew: David Chase's Longlegs?
[0:22:16] Eric: Is this Pauly? Pauly on stilts? Gavin, you ready to move on to your list? Just shy of a billion. Wow. Here it is. Wow, not a lot. Not a lot. All right, good insight.
[0:22:33] Andrew: See, I don't even remember. Did I really have those? So Gavin opened with Bad Boys Ride or Die for 12 points. Made $193 million domestic. I really liked it. I know you watched it in a way. We already kind of covered it, Eric. It wasn't your favorite. I think outside of Bad Boys 2, my favorite Bad Boys. I think it's better than one. I think it's more enjoyable. Inside Out 2? Anyone see that? One of the biggest movies of the summer? I don't think any of us saw it. No. Nope.
[0:23:01] Gavin: It did pretty much double Despicable Me, which was...
[0:23:05] Andrew: Crazy.
[0:23:06] Gavin: Which was cool.
[0:23:07] Andrew: It just kept making money. Yep. And then you had Alien Romulus come out. You spent 13 points on that for $104 million.
[0:23:17] Gavin: I think that should have done slightly more.
[0:23:20] Andrew: Really? Yeah. Was it good? I think in recent... I'd be interested to see where it stacks up against all the Alien movies as a whole. Number three. It's the third highest earning one?
[0:23:33] Gavin: Oh, in earnings?
[0:23:34] Andrew: God, no. Yeah. No, not in... In goodness.
[0:23:36] Geoff: I didn't mean in goodness. No. So write the Alien films in order from best to worst right now, go. Best to worst? Yeah. Yeah, go. Aliens?
[0:23:44] Gavin: Alien. Yep. Romulus, Covenant, and then...
[0:23:52] Andrew: You gotta go Prometheus and then the Alien vs. Predators on the back end, right?
[0:24:01] Geoff: I like Prometheus. I never saw it.
[0:24:08] Nick: It's fine.
[0:24:10] Geoff: I thought it wasn't an Alien movie. It's better if Covenant is already out.
[0:24:15] Gavin: I think Covenant made Prometheus a bit better.
[0:24:18] Andrew: Alien Romulus is the second highest grossing Alien movie. Wow. Prometheus number one. It goes Prometheus, then Romulus, then Aliens, then Alien vs. Predator, and then the original Alien.
[0:24:33] Geoff: So Prometheus is an Alien movie? Yeah. I thought one of them wasn't an Alien movie. It is, but it's not. It is, but it's not. That's what people keep saying. It's a prequel. Yeah. Okay.
[0:24:48] Andrew: It has a xenomorph in it. Well, it's got some kind of Alien in it.
[0:24:53] Geoff: And it's got the space jockey.
[0:24:55] Andrew: Yeah.
[0:24:56] Geoff: So it's an Alien movie. Yeah. Isn't it?
[0:24:58] Andrew: Oh, God. Yeah. I guess if you want to get technical in the fucking world of Alien, the xenomorph didn't exist yet, but the thing that becomes the xenomorph is in that movie. Xenomorph. The black goo.
[0:25:11] Geoff: So why don't people just refer to it as a prequel? Why do people always say, well, it's not really an Alien movie?
[0:25:15] Gavin: I think people thought it was a direct prequel. I think all the stuff that they thought they were seeing, they thought was in Alien.
[0:25:22] Eric: Yeah.
[0:25:22] Gavin: But it was different shit.
[0:25:24] Eric: I think people who like the Alien franchise this much are weird to begin with and are very protective of lore that the guy who made it does not care less about. Like he does not give a shit and he just goes, yeah, I don't know. They're evil or they're good or something. And it's, that's it.
[0:25:40] Gavin: Ridley Scott has no respect for the Alien franchise.
[0:25:43] Eric: Zero. Zero. None. It's fantastic. I think it's great.
[0:25:48] Andrew: Zero respect, but also like a weird amount of respect of like, no, we're going to explain what these things meant in the first movie. Yeah. It's like, what? It's so odd that he cares about it, but also doesn't seem to care at all. Yep. Right. The engineers were Jesus. Then your last few were the Forge, Slingshot, and City of Dreams. Yeah.
[0:26:07] Gavin: I have no memory of those, but man, the Forge was good value per point. Jesus.
[0:26:11] Andrew: I don't know anything about those three movies, but yeah. One point for 27 million. The hell was Slingshot?
[0:26:19] Nick: The hell was Slingshot? No idea.
[0:26:20] Eric: 700 grand? What's the Forge? I just don't know what any of that stuff is, but, but it doesn't matter because you came in second, because Andrew made over a billion dollars with his picks. Billion dollar opening. Only five, only five movies. Wow.
[0:26:42] Unidentified: God.
[0:26:43] Gavin: Solid core. Wait. Solid core. How did Wolverine and Deadpool do in comparison with Inside Out in total? Inside Out was on mine.
[0:26:54] Andrew: Made more, I think. No, it's Nick's is Inside Out. Inside Out 2 is Gavit.
[0:26:59] Gavin: It made more. I had the highest grossing movie? Yeah.
[0:27:03] Eric: Yeah.
[0:27:03] Gavin: Damn it. And I still lost. Damn it.
[0:27:06] Eric: Yeah. Damn, it was so close. Look at that. I didn't realize that Inside Out 2 made more than Deadpool Wolverine. That's crazy.
[0:27:14] Gavin: I, it just make this, this whole thing just makes me hate Twisters even more.
[0:27:19] Eric: I'm with you, man. Absolutely. Absolutely. Look at that slow climb for Andrew too, where it's like 91. Then you, then it's 19. Fly Me to the Moon is, you've gone a whole month here where Garfield comes out at the end of May. And then you're going until almost what? Like late July until you have something that bangs on for you. And it, man, it, it hits hard.
[0:27:46] Andrew: That's wild. Massive movie. Yeah. It's, it's sort of what, in my experience with these games, I've done this more than you guys have. It is, you want ideally one of those Deadpool and Wolverine. And then it's just about trying to get those things that really overperform like Twisters. Yeah. And that sort of range where it doesn't cost a ton of points.
[0:28:06] Geoff: I wish it was already next summer so we could do it again. So do I.
[0:28:09] Andrew: I'm excited. I'm excited to, yeah, the preview, what the next summer, like, I have no idea what's supposed to come out. No idea. This upcoming summer.
[0:28:15] Geoff: I think a bunch of stuff they're saying.
[0:28:17] Gavin: I mean, if we play by football rules, Eric just got relegated. And then I think we have to bring someone up from the community to replace it. So what do you do?
[0:28:24] Eric: You just like bring Gracie in or something? Oh yeah.
[0:28:26] Gavin: Great call.
[0:28:28] Eric: No, that's not, that's not a suggestion. I want to play. I agree. I want to play.
[0:28:34] Andrew: Eric will be back. And I don't know if you guys remember the prize for this thing, but for winning, I get to pick a watch along that we do. Oh, I already know what it's going to be. I got it in mind. I'm going to, I'm going to sit on that for a little bit. We probably be, we'll be watching something in November or December. Whoa. Do you think we'll do it with the Falcons or what? Uh, very possible.
[0:28:58] Geoff: Sounds Christmas related.
[0:29:00] Andrew: I will say, yeah, it is. It is a Christmas related film that I don't think I could get you guys to watch in any
[0:29:08] Geoff: other context, but this jingle all the way, jingle all the way, jingle all the way to yeah.
[0:29:13] Andrew: Yeah. Yeah. I have a fondness for this movie. Right. Jingle all the way to, you think I like jingle all the way to. Yeah.
[0:29:21] Eric: I think you're setting it up. So we are watching jingle all the way to small soldiers.
[0:29:27] Andrew: If there was a small soldiers Christmas version, I'd be all about that. Jingle all the way to. I haven't seen it. Maybe I do like it. I don't know. Isn't Larry, the cable guy, the Santa Claus, it is Larry, the cable guy, jingle all the
[0:29:41] Gavin: way to, they are you serious all the way in the first movie still jingling all the way
[0:29:49] Andrew: to, but wait, there's more.
[0:29:52] Eric: Well, there, there you have it. Uh, the summer movie auction, I think was a success. It was a lot of fun. How did, how did you do in the community? How, how did your picks go with your friends? Let us know in the comments who won and what watch along movie you're going to make them watch with Larry, the cable guy this Christmas.
[0:30:10] Gavin: I'm going to get my purple line tattooed on my arm.
[0:30:14] Eric: Whoa. That's pretty cool. Well, thanks for doing this with us, Andrew. Thanks for introducing us to the summer movie auction.
[0:30:27] Geoff: Yeah. Congratulations on your victory.
[0:30:31] Andrew: Oh, thank you. I, uh, nobody believed in me, including myself, but we, we pulled it out at the end.
[0:30:37] Geoff: We were all pretty sure you'd win it. It was your game.
[0:30:39] Andrew: Yeah. Listen, if you were looking at community posts, it was all Gavin's got this locked up. Yeah. Gavin's locked it in. He's got it. We're catching up.
[0:30:50] Eric: We're not the community. We're the show. Yeah. Oh shit. Yeah, this is the show. Yeah. There's a real difference.
[0:30:56] Gavin: Do you think maybe next year, Eric will give himself a free movie? I should get two free movies.
[0:31:04] Andrew: Who have I been doing all those podcasts with?
[0:31:09] Eric: Thanks for watching guys. Uh, let us know how you did and, um, I'm excited for the next one. Bye. Okay. Bye. Bye. Bye.
[0:31:17] Nick: Okay.
